Business is the act of making one’s living by producing or buying and selling products. Having a business name can come from the business entity from the owner. The debts incurred by the business will be a burden to the owner. The goal of business is: to fill a need or to solve a problem. You do it by selling a product or service to the customer. Without determining the needs there will be no solutions to provide about the problem thus there will be no customers and also business. The customer has always been the first priority. People who are in need are the ones taken the interest of any successful business. With that, how can any business owners give back to the people who are in dire need of help? The answer would be through funding any local, regional, national or international charities. You know, like the children’s sports clubs, groups, churches and local chapters of national organizations.
Groups or any affiliations can be considered as a charity if it gets benefits. To take examples of big companies that are giving back big time to the community are enumerated.
GE has been one of the top companies that give back to nonprofit organizations. While GE initially only give donations to colleges and universities, it has already expanded its match program to include nearly all nonprofits. Employees can give donations from $25 to $5,000.
Google gives $50 to $12,000 in donations per employee each year. One of the highlights of Google’s match program is that the company not only matches personal donations to nonprofit organizations, but also matches money being raise for charitable events that they are supporting. One way of giving back to the community that the Google is using is the Google Dot Org which aims to help local, national and global communities. Annually, a money worth of $100,000,000 is being donated by the Google through the Google Dot Org to any nonprofit organizations and groups. They are also provide seed funding for global entrepreneurs in developing countries, community grants, and disaster reliefs. Google is also providing grants to help boost traffic to nonprofits’ websites through their program called Google Ad Grants.
Another big company that is giving back to the community is Starbucks. The Starbuck through its program called Starbuck’s Partner Match Program is granting any nonprofit in the United States of America which is consist of Canadian employees and retired volunteers. Youngsters and leadership are also one of the benefactors of the other organizations of Starbucks called Starbucks foundation.
The IBM company is also aiding financially the current and retired employees who are and were volunteering. Any group can request up to $7,500 in IBM equipment grants for eligible schools and nonprofits organizations.
